Audition times for Cedar's Got Talent 2013
If your name is not listed below and you are expecting a specific audition time OR you are listed in a different age category please contact me ASAP (435-691-4014). Please make sure to bring your signed entry form and a CD with your accompaniment if you're needing one. Please remember the 2 minute limit and NO LIVE ACCOMPANIMENT unless you or someone entered as a participant plays it themselves, it must be pre recorded. If you have any questions please let me know. Auditions will be located in the choir room at the Cedar High School. I am sorry for those who have to come back if you are performing more than once, I have to try and keep age divisions together as much as possible. If any of this is an issue, please let me know and I will try and accommodate.

CEDAR'S GOT TALENT 2013 UPDATE
AUDITIONS FOR THE 2013 CEDAR'S GOT TALENT WILL BE FRIDAY, AUGUST 23RD AT CEDAR HIGH SCHOOL IN CEDAR CITY UTAH. OPEN AUDITIONS WILL BEGIN AROUND 5 PM. If this is the first time participating, be aware that only a certain number of auditions will make it to the finals to perform in the park on Saturday the 24th in each age category.
A few changes and some information for those wanting to participate this year:
-You DO NOT need to get me your backing track, (if you're requiring one) prior to the audition. Just make sure you bring it to your audition and have it labeled with your name, age, and song title. I will be keeping it in case you make the finals so make sure it is a copy or you need to come get it from me after the auditions.
-I am allowing open auditions this year, however for those who don't want to sit around, or if you have a school/ work schedule to work around make sure you get me your information so that I can schedule you a specific time. If you DO NOT see your name below and need to have a specific time slot or you don't want to chance having to wait in line, contact me immediately. If you do not get it to me and are planning to just show up and do your thing, be prepared to possibly wait. I will post the tentative audition schedule 1-2 days prior to the 23rd. (If you don't see another name by yours then I am assuming its a solo act, if this isn't the case please let me know. If there is a * by your name then I need you to email me at marizhawn@hotmail.com and give me your age, talent description and title please)

-REMEMBER the 2 min maximum, unless you have a specialty talent and have received permission for an extended time limit, you will need to make sure it is 2 min or less. If you do not adhere to this, the judges will be notified and you could be disqualified.
As always, please contact me with any information. For those considering returning but are unsure, I would strongly STRONGLY encourage you to. Different set of judges can determine a completely different set of scores. Its so hard being on this side of things and knowing how well some of you did or how close some of you came to making the finals and then some and have you walk away feeling like you did horrible or feeling defeated. If I could stretch the time long enough to allow EVERYONE that was talented enough or who I felt should have gotten through there would be A LOT more that make it through. I've never seen a talent competition like this where there is SO MUCH talent and most all of the talents are on an upper skill level. Its so rewarding watching the judges eyes pop out of their head when they see what our little area has to offer. SO PLEASE PLEASE consider coming back.

Cedar's Got Talent Audition Information for the 2013 Competition
I'm so excited to see what who we will see this year since every year the talent absolutely blows me away. Each year I think we can't improve and yet I find myself wide eyed and astounded. Can't WAIT!
So the ages this year will be:
Toddler's 0-7
Children's 8-11
Teen's 12-18
Adult 19 and Up
Family two or more participants from two or more different age categories
The dates for this year's competition will be Friday and Saturday, August 23-24 and will be held at the New stage in the Park!! Which means, friday we will have auditions and only the finalists will perform Saturday night, similar to last year except the finals will be in the park and the audition location will be announced later
I am going to be more strict this year on deadlines. Please pay attention to when your music is due, time guidelines, and rules and regulations.
I'm so excited!! I am so grateful to be apart of a community that supports one another and am so proud to showcase the talent that we have. You of course are welcome to contact me anytime with comments, questions, or concerns. Thanks everyone!!

This is the part I hate. If I could take every single one of you, I would. I wish time permitted but unfortunately it doesn't. Please come back and try again next year if you didn't make it this year, I am more than happy to help you in any way I can. I was so impressed today and not just with the individuals who made it, I was impressed with everyone and am proud that we had the turn out that we did. Ok...heres a little detail. There will be a $50 winner of each category, the city wants the winners to perform at the Family Of The Year following the talent competition at 7 pm. However, they don't want to announce the $500 grand overall winner till the end, so all finalists need to be to the family of the year competition, if your name is called to perform during the presentation you are the $50 winner of your category and are eligible for the $500 grand prize that will be announced at the end. SO....after the finals, go get something to eat and be back ready to possibly perform at 7 pm. The winners of the categories will perform through out, there will be 5 total, Infant, Child, Teen, Adult, and Family category winners. That means only 5 finalists will perform at the Family of the Year presentation that begins at 7, unfortunately you won't know until your name is called right then and there. Just come prepared just in case. Call me or email me with any questions.

I'm so sorry but you're going to have to wait later, I stopped at the park to see the festivities with my kids. I promise I will post them tonight but probably not for a while. I can tell you the judges were incredibly impressed with the talent that was showcased, I was proud myself.

Tentative Audition Schedule
This is the audition schedule, if you have a problem with your time slot and have a legitimate reason, I will do what I can to accomodate. I will post a final one Thursday night. Please remember to come no less than 5 min early, no more than 10 min early. I know that there are some siblings and unfortunately they couldn't be side by side, although that would be convenient to be 100% fair the numbers were chosen at random.
